BD101 Classic - Q. Robinson

Ain't Too Proud First National Tour/Hamilton "Phillip" Tour and so much more!

🎙 About This Episode:
In this Broadway Drumming 101 Classic, I sit down with the incredible Quinton Robinson—better known as "Q"—for an insightful and inspiring conversation. Recorded in July 2021, right before he hit the road with the first national Ain't Too Proud tour, this episode dives deep into Q’s journey from his beginnings in Miami to becoming one of the most versatile drummers in the industry.

Q’s story is one of talent, persistence, and adaptability. Growing up immersed in church music, he began playing drums at just three years old. By high school, he was leading the snare section in Miami Northwestern’s marching band before earning a scholarship to the University of Miami, where he studied music performance. After building an impressive resume touring with artists like Peabo Bryson, Bobby Brown, Avery Sunshine, and Anthony David, Q transitioned into musical theater and never looked back.

Now, Q is the drummer for the Hamilton "Phillip" Tour, a testament to his ability to excel in any musical setting. This episode captures the key moments that shaped his journey and highlights the lessons he’s learned along the way.

🌟 Exciting News!
An updated interview with Q will drop in just a few weeks, where we’ll dive into his latest experiences on tour and his continued growth as a musician. Trust me—you won’t want to miss it!
