Joe Choroszewski - Approved vs. Designated.
Check out his interview on the Broadway Drumming 101 Podcast. The episode is out on Friday, 9/24
Joe Choroszewski is one of the most in-demand drummers in New York City. Over the years, he has subbed at TWENTY TWO Broadway musicals, was the drummer for the long-running Off-Broadway production of “Avenue Q” at New World Stages, and recently landed the split drum chair for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. He also played drums for the Broadway production of “Finding Neverland” at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre.
When you sub a show on Broadway, you can become approved and then designated. Joe explains what that means here:
Clayton Craddock, the drummer of the hit broadway musical Ain't Too Proud. He has played drums in several hit broadway and off-broadway musicals, including "Tick, tick…BOOM!, Altar Boyz, Memphis The Musical, and Lady Day At Emerson's Bar and Grill. Also, Clayton has worked on: Footloose, Motown, The Color Purple, Rent, Little Shop of Horrors, Spongebob Squarepants, The Musical, Evita, Cats, and Avenue Q.
